Creative Cutting on the Sawmill

This is an antique hand hewn pine timber that measured 11 inches by 12 inches by 21 ft that we needed to split in half. The sawmill will only cut 20 ft so I had to put the timber on the mill and start the cut and only go in 2 ft and then I had to put wedges in the beam allowing the blade to back out of that 2 ft cut. Then I had to remove the beam from the sawmill and flip it around so that the cut that I had started was at the very end of the mill. The blade needed to match the two foot cut at the end to allow the beam to become two pieces. I nailed it!!
