Custom Outdoor Red Oak Table & Bench Project

From Raw Lumber to a Beautiful Outdoor Gathering Space

One of our clients brought us a set of stunning 3-inch-thick red oak slabs with a vision for a custom outdoor table and matching benches. We transformed those rough slabs into a finished centerpiece by carefully planing, jointing, sanding, filling natural voids and imperfections, and crafting both the tabletop and benchtops to bring the project to life.

To ensure years of outdoor durability, we applied four coats of premium spar urethane, providing long-lasting protection against the elements while enhancing the natural beauty of the red oak. We also incorporated subtle touches of blue resin in select areas to preserve the character of the wood and create a truly one-of-a-kind look.

The result is a handcrafted outdoor dining set that combines the warmth of natural hardwood with the durability needed for outdoor living. We think it turned out beautifully—and we’d say it’s ready to host plenty of great memories!
